Ich finde es ja immer sehr spannend, wie es denn nun zu einem Label und einem Logo f\u00fcr eine Marke kommt. Meistens steckt ja doch eine Geschichte dahinter.<\/p>\n

I am always curious what is behind a name and a logo. In most cases it has a meaning and a story.<\/em><\/p>\n

Also, wie kam es zu Gewandfantasien und zu dem kleinen Flatterviech im Logo? Letzteres ist ja noch etwas j\u00fcnger. Angefangen hat das ganze n\u00e4mlich unter der total kreativen Domain „tanz-der-schatten.de“ vor ca. 15 Jahren. Wie man auf sowas kommt? Es begab sich also zu der Zeit, als es bei gmx noch einen Chat gab (ja, den gab es mal), dass man sich da als Rollenspieler zusammenfand und auch dachte, man k\u00f6nne ja mal Treffen veranstalten. Zu diesen Treffen hatte ich mir selbst etwas gen\u00e4ht und das fand so gro\u00dfen Anklang, dass andere auch etwas gen\u00e4ht haben wollten. Und zwar im Auftrag f\u00fcr ihren eigenen Shop. Also wurde die bereits vorhandene Domain (s.o.), die eigentlich f\u00fcr den obligatorischen Gothic-angehauchten Ego-Trip mit selbstgeschriebenen Geschichten, selbstgemalten Bildern und mehr oder minder originellen Charaktergeschichten gedacht war, umgewidmet. Der Name wurde n\u00e4mlich f\u00fcr eine Gewerbeanmeldung genutzt. Eine Bauchentscheidung, die dann auch relativ schnell zu Bauchschmerzen f\u00fchrte. Gl\u00fccklich war ich mit DEM Namen n\u00e4mlich so gar nicht. Meiner Ansicht nach war ich damit komplett auf die Gothic-Ecke festgelegt. In der ich aber gar nicht sein wollte! Also zumindest nicht nur.<\/p>\n

Some for my label Gewandfantasien and the little butterfly. Though the butterfly is a rather young addition. Everything started with a highly creativ domain „Tanz-der-schatten.de“ (meaning dance-of-shadows) about 15 years ago. Why did I choose this? I was not sewing at all back than but into roleplay. The one where you have a piece of paper with a character on it. It was in the time back when gmx still had a chat. One thing leads to another and we thought about meeting in real life. I got my mum’s sewing machine and made myself a dress. I received quite a lot of compliments and some people asked for dresses for their own characters. Friends of mine had an online shop and offered me to sew for their clients. That did not work out but I took my domain and got rid of all the drawings and stories for my characters. No big loss. I used the name for my own little start up. Or rather side job. That was something I decided by gut and not thinking it out did not pay. I was quite unsatisfied with the name as it anchored me firmly in the gothic scene. But I did not want to make only gothic stuff. <\/em><\/p>\n

Warum Gewandfantasien?<\/b>
\nGewandfantasien setzt sich f\u00fcr mich zusammen aus den Dingen, die ich prim\u00e4r mache: Gewandungen und meine Fantasien ausleben in Bezug auf Kleidung. Gewandung ist dabei ein Wort, das statt Kost\u00fcm in den Bereichen genutzt wird, in denen es halt nicht mehr Verkleidung ist. Wenn also das historische Kost\u00fcm so mit Leben erf\u00fcllt wird, dass es keine Verkleidung mehr ist. Oder das nicht-historische. Ich n\u00e4he aber auch Kost\u00fcme zum verkleiden \ud83d\ude42
\nFantasie haben wir alle, das muss ich glaube ich nicht erkl\u00e4ren.
\nIch muss allerdings sagen, dass ich im Nachhinein auch den Namen manchmal zu eng finde bzw. glaube, dass ich mir mit dem Begriff „Gewandung“ keinen Gefallen getan habe. Aber \u00e4ndern mag ich ihn nach den Jahren nun auch nicht mehr.<\/p>\n

In einer Hinsicht war er auf jeden Fall falsch gew\u00e4hlt. F\u00fcr alle, die nicht deutsch sprechen, ist der Name n\u00e4mlich nur sehr schwer auszusprechen. Und damit halt auch schwer zu merken. Wenn du also gerade vor der Frage stehst, \u00fcberleg dir genau, ob du auch international verkaufen willst, Wenn ja, nimm etwas international aussprechbares!<\/p>\n

Gewandfantasien describes the things I do. I make garb (=Gewand) and I use my imagination (=fantasien) to do them. Garb means not costume as such but rather clothing for special events. I do not make pure costumes. They are alway really wearable. <\/em><\/p>\n

Imagination or fantasy does not need an explanation. <\/em><\/p>\n

In hinsight I am quite positive I should have taken another name. I still love this one but is is still limited. But I will stick to it as I used it for years. <\/em><\/p>\n

For all non Germans it is a quite difficult name. For you I came up with a little slogan \ud83d\ude42 Dress you fantasy. <\/em><\/p>\n

Und der Schmetterling?<\/b>
\nF\u00fcr alle, die jetzt nicht wissen, welchen Schmetterling ich meine: den da oben mittig im Banner. Aber zur \u00dcbersicht nochmal hier.<\/p>\n

Ich hatte ja schon erw\u00e4hnt, dass es da mal diesen Chat in grauer Vorzeit gab. Damals war mein erstes Alias „Aricia“. Der Name taucht auch immer noch an der ein oder anderen Stelle auf. Unter diesem Namen war ich in einigen Kreisen bekannt und ich mochte ihn. Geklaut hatte ich ihn aus einem Roman, das sollte ein britischer\/keltischer Frauenname zu R\u00f6merzeiten sein. Ob das stimmt, habe ich ehrlich gesagt nie nachgepr\u00fcft.
\nNat\u00fcrlich sind wir alle neugierig und darum habe ich dieses Wort auch bei Google eingegeben.<\/p>\n
